Huajatolla Heritage Foundation and the Huerfano Board of County Commissioners is pleased to introduce a year long program called “Huerfano Honors Its Own”. This is a program that is evolving through community nominations and suggestions. Throughout 2023, a Honoring Committee will review applications and choose one “elder” (over the age of 60) and one “younger” (under the age of 18) to be recognized and honored in several ways, including appearing at the County Commissioner meeting on the 4^th Tuesday of the month. In addition, several letters will be sent out each month to other outstanding Huerfano County residents that contribute to making out county such a special place to live.
