Dr. William Cluff was the Honored Elder along with Willow Clark the Honored Young Person for May presented to the County Commissioners on May 23rd. Dr. Cluff has recently returned to Huerfano County and is residing at La Veta Village. He was a much beloved physician providing health care for over 34 years in La Veta and in Gardner. His compassionate heart and love of the citizens of Huerfano County made him an obvious choice to be an Honored Elder.
We are fortunate to have outstanding “youngers” in our community also. Willow Clark recently graduated from high school in La Veta as co-valedictorian. In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, she has also been active at both the Francisco Fort Museum as well as the La Veta Public Library. Willow will be pursuing her college education at Fort Lewis in Durango. There are great things ahead for this talented young woman.
